Join Harvard University's Democratic Knowledge Project (DKP) for a two-day deep dive into a brand-new Grade 8 Civics curriculum created in collaboration with Massachusetts educators. Educators will be presented with a year-long six-unit open-source curriculum, analyze how the DKP units align with the core competencies of content standards, practice standards and literacy standards in the 2018 MA History and Social Science Frameworks, and workshop ways to adapt DKP resources to meet the needs of their students and context.

Learn the curriculum in a two-day deep dive. - July 17 and 18 from 8:30am-3:30pm

The workshops will be led by Danielle Allen, James Bryant Conant University Professor at Harvard University, and Director of Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, as well as additional lecturers with research and teaching appointments at Harvard.

All Massachusetts History and Social Studies educators are welcome to attend. Grade 8 History and Social Studies teachers will find every session particularly helpful, however.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Civic Educators to earn up to 10.5 professional development points (PDPs) this summer at Harvard University!
